Begin
with the "Casting On" video to learn the first step
in knitting. Cast on about 10 or 20 stitches and then try
the "Knit Stitch". Do 10 or 15 rows of the knit
stitch. Next proceed to the "Purl Stitch". Purl
10 or 15 rows. Some would say that the purl stitch is more
difficult to master compared to the knit stitch. Consider
just practicing the knit stitch for now. To finish off your
little test swatch, you will need to "Binding Off".
With practice and patience, the needles will begin to feel
more natural in your hands!
You
can continue practicing making little swatches to hone your
skills and when you are ready, try our Fluffy
Scarf as your first project! For this scarf, you just
need to cast on, do the knit stitch and then bind off. You
will need size #19 needles and some bulky yarn such as Cascade
Magnum or Rowan Big Wool.
This scarf is very easy and knits up super fast!
